Tobias Singelnstein:

Since the summer term of 2022, Tobias Singelnstein is professor of criminology and criminal law at Goethe-Universität's law faculty. Prior to this, he held the Chair of Criminology at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, and a junior professorship for criminal law and criminal procedure at Freie Universität Berlin, where he acquired habilitation. Tobias Singelnstein's work focusses, on the one hand, on criminology. Here he conducts research on topics such as social control and society, police and judiciary, and security studies. On the other hand, he is active in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure, where criminal investigative measures and the law of evidence, data processing in criminal proceedings, and digitalization in criminal law are among his core themes. He is co-editor of the professional journals "Neue Kriminalpolitik" and "Kriminologisches Journal". In 2020, he was elected to the DFG review board 113 (Jurisprudence).
